info

If you have problems ripping your DVD´s using DVD Decrypter alone as presented in the FAQ, then you can try this way which require a little more work. Sometimes DVD Decrypter aint able to remove newer copy protections by itself, so wee need to help it out by using additional tools.

Here´s what you need: (all of them are for free!)
DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and Ripit4Me

Install the tools:
Start by installing DVD Decrypter, then install DVD Shrink. Create a folder in the root of your hard drive named "ripit4me" or something and drop the ripit4me.exe file into that folder.

Next thing is to setup DVD Shrink:

  1. Click "Edit" ---> "Preferences"
  2. Click on the "Output Files" tab and uncheck the "Split VOB files..." option
  3. Click "OK" and close the application
Let´s get started!!

Put the DVD into the computer, start Ripit4Me and click the "1-Click Mode" button:

Select "Movie Only" and click "Next"

Ripit4Me will prepare and start DVD Decrypter for you automatically:

When done, DVD Decrypter will close and DVD Shrink will open for you.
Click on the "Re-Author" tab.

Select the video and drag it over to the "Re-Authored DVD" frame and drop it there.

Click on the "Compression Settings" tab, select an audio stream and uncheck everything else. Then right-click on the video and select "Set Start/End Frames".

Last thing, is to set the last frame of the video. It´s highly recommended that you set the last frame to somewhere where you still can see something. In this case, it´s the very end of the Shrek movie, right after the end-credits where the "Dreamworks" logo shows up.

In short: drag the slider to the end, then use the buttons to move your way arround.

(This is to make sure you get rid of the last frames of the DVD and to prevent Avisynth to fail)

Ok, all there is to it, is to click "OK" and then press the "Backup!" button and select a target folder...

...and click "OK" once again to finnish the job! :)

When done, fire up PSPVC, click "Source" button and select the VOB file you just created using the tools above!

Good luck :)
